A Distributed SDN Controller for Distributed IoT

چکیده

Over the past decade, Internet of Things (IoT) has undergone a paradigm shift away from centralized cloud computing towards edge computing. Hundreds billions things are estimated to be deployed in rapidly advancing IoT paradigm, resulting enormous amounts data. Transmitting all these data recently proven performance bottleneck, as it causes many network issues relating latency, power consumption, security, privacy, etc. However, existing paradigms do not use devices for decision making. The distributed intelligence could strengthen several ways by distributing decision-making tasks within network, rather than sending central server. In this approach, computational and shared among devices. To achieve efficient distribution utilization resources, is necessary integrate transport control with resources provide dynamic services. This challenge can overcome equipping an gateway required extract information raw decide whether actuate itself or outsource complex cloud. Distributed refers collaboration between edge. context, we first introduce SDN-based architecture that enables gateways perform processing dynamically at based on current state resources. Next, propose algorithm selecting clients training process Federated Learning Applications, context network. last step, deploy Applications our architecture, using conduct comprehensive detailed evaluation system perspectives.

A Distributed Hybrid Matchmaker for IoT Services

The use of service-oriented computing paradigm in Internet of Things research has recently received significant attention to create a semantic service layer that supports virtualisation of and interaction among “Things”. Using service-based solutions will produce a deluge of services that provide access to different data and capabilities exposed by different resources. The heterogeneity of the ...

The Role of Inter-Controller Traffic for Placement of Distributed SDN Controllers

We consider a distributed Software Defined Networking (SDN) architecture adopting a cluster of multiple controllers to improve network performance and reliability. Besides the Openflow control traffic exchanged between controllers and switches, we focus on the control traffic exchanged among the controllers in the cluster, needed to run coordination and consensus algorithms to keep the controll...

A Distributed SDN Control Plane for Consistent Policy Updates

Software-defined networking (SDN) is a novel paradigm that out-sources the control of packet-forwarding switches to a set of software controllers. The most fundamental task of these controllers is the correct implementation of the network policy, i.e., the intended network behavior. In essence, such a policy specifies the rules by which packets must be forwarded across the network. This paper i...

A Clustering-based Consistency Adaptation Strategy for Distributed SDN Controllers

Distributed controllers are oftentimes used in largescale SDN deployments where they run a myriad of network applications simultaneously. Such applications could have different consistency and availability preferences. These controllers need to communicate via east/west interfaces in order to synchronize their state information. The consistency and the availability of the distributed state info...

A distributed resource controller for QoS applications

The Distributed Resource Controller (DRC) technology described in this paper provides a novel approach to interfacing applications with emerging network mechanisms to deliver Quality of Service (QoS) and controlling network resource utilization. DRC aims to unify network services (e.g., Diffserv, Intserv, and ATM) and application QoS provisioning by introducing a middleware system and a set of ...
